Ever wondered about the inner workings of the tech side of an HR tech company? We recently sat down with Enboarder’s CTO Anuj Gupta, who joined the team as employee #2 back in 2015!
Learn a bit about what got Anuj excited to lead the tech side of the business, the key focus areas for his team, and the secret sauce to his leadership style.
Tell us about your career journey at Enboarder. What got you excited to join the team as employee #2?
In 2015 I was preparing for my move to Australia from India. At the same time I met Brent Pearson (our founder and CEO) through a common friend. Brent was working on conceptual designs of Enboarder at the time, and I was really excited listening to the concepts and the positive impact they could have on employee engagement and the employee-manager relationship.
I joined the team as CTO on a mission to create a world-class product. It has been an awesome journey for me so far. I feel we have grown and achieved a lot in a short span of time.
What are some of the key focus areas of the technology team as we evolve the product?
We have a few key focus areas for the short- and medium-term:
- Analytics and Insights: We are exploring how we can use various AI technologies to provide a better end-user experience.
- Integrations: We’re focusing on how to increase the usage of Enboarder in the flow of work by integrating with tech like Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Whatsapp, to name a few.
- Data Privacy and Security: This is a critical focus as we process customer data. Enboarder is ISO27001 certified and SOC-2 Type 2 audited company.
Tech consolidation is a key priority for many companies right now. What advice would you give your IT and tech peers assessing a product like Enboarder? What value do we provide across a broader HR tech stack?
Tech consolidation is a theme right now in a tough economic climate where companies are trying to consolidate systems, especially in the HR tech space. When our prospects experience a demo of Enboarder they can see how easy and flexible the product is and the value it provides in improving employee engagement and connections amongst employees. It’s a product designed for HR people.
Enboarder also has integrations with quite a lot of HRIS, ATS, and ticketing systems, and this can help organizations to easily connect these systems together using Enboarder.
How would you describe your leadership style?
As a leader I work with my team to inspire and empower them. I try to create an environment where my team can thrive and grow personally and professionally. I am also a strong believer in leading by example, demonstrating the same level of commitment, work ethic, and values I hold my team to.
How did you spend your last Enrichment Day?
My son and I went for a bike ride together and picked up trash in the neighborhood for a cleaner environment.
